responsibilities:
- The Scientist I, Manufacturing Sciences, will be responsible for the synthesis of functionalized resins used in columns.
- Use manufacturing protocols to accurately synthesize raw and functionalized resins for column production for HPLC
- Follow established procedures to perform standard polymer chemistry synthesis such as ATRP, grafting, polymerizations, etc.
-Address and report problems in daily manufacturing and propose effective countermeasures
-Communicate effectively with other production staff regarding delays, issues in production, etc
-Ability to present findings and results to interact efficiently in a cross functional setting between several departments: R&D, Process Development, product management, etc.
-Collaborate in PPI initiatives to improve overall quality and yields of various synthesized resins
-Participate in 5S, JDI, and Safety initiatives
qualifications:
Required: - Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry.
-0-1 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
-Direct experience with polymer chemistry and analytical chemistry preferred
-Experience with chromatography software and H/UPLC preferred
-Ability to perform routine analysis on size distribution and surface area of resins
-Solid understanding of manufacturing environments and standard chemistry techniques and principles
-Ability to interpret chromatograms from HPLC/UPLC, GC-MS.
-Familiarity working with standard software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
-Familiarity with chromatography systems, experience in analytical chemistry a plus
-Experience with generating and following quality control documents or procedures in compliance with quality standard ISO9001
