Job Description

Summary

Instruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool, day care center, or other child development facility.

Duties

• Set up classroom materials or equipment.
• Provide for basic needs of children.
• Teach life skills.
• Establish rules or policies governing student behavior.
• Read to students.
• Plan educational activities.
• Monitor student performance.
• Monitor student behavior, social development, or health.
• Evaluate student work.
• Discuss problems or issues with supervisors.
• Discuss student progress with parents or guardians.
• Enforce rules or policies governing student behavior.
• Modify teaching methods or materials to accommodate student needs.
• Develop instructional objectives.
• Apply multiple teaching methods.
• Arrange childcare or educational settings to ensure physical safety of children.
• Maintain student records.
• Prepare reports detailing student activities or performance.
• Display student work.
• Attend training sessions or professional meetings to develop or maintain professional knowledge
• Discuss problems or issues with supervisors.
• Plan experiential learning activities.
• Maintain inventories of materials, equipment, or products.
• Assist students with special educational needs.
• Supervise school or student activities.
• Administer tests to assess educational needs or progress.
• Develop strategies or programs for students with special needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, Pass Criminal background check, pass drug test.

Nice To Haves

Early Childhood Education background experience.
Be willing to enroll in the T.E.A.C.H. program to complete ECD 101, free of charge.
Experience with ABC Quality Care
