Job Description

The Assembler builds electro-mechanical units and sub-assemblies that include printed circuit boards, components, and hardware. This role follows detailed work instructions and procedures to perform through-hole assembly, final assembly, electrical testing, and related production tasks using various hand and power tools in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble printed circuit boards by inserting applicable components in a through-hole fashion, following specific work instructions and procedures.
  • Use various hand tools and air/power tools to complete circuit board and electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Install sub-assemblies and miscellaneous hardware into unit enclosures at the final assembly level according to documented instructions.
  • Perform electrical functional testing at the printed circuit board and final assembly levels using test fixtures provided by electrical engineering.
  • Inspect assemblies and components for quality, accuracy, and proper installation before moving units to the next stage.
  • Support packing and packaging activities, including preparing completed units for shipment as needed.
  • Work efficiently on a production or assembly line to meet daily and weekly production goals and deadlines.
  • Follow cleanroom or controlled-area procedures when required for specific assemblies.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, diagrams, and other technical documentation as needed for assembly and wiring tasks.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and correctly, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve issues and support continuous process improvement.
  • Complete all assigned tasks from start to finish, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and production standards.
  • Stand at a workstation for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform electro-mechanical assembly, including working with printed circuit boards and sub-assemblies.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools, including air tools, in a production environment.
  • Ability to perform mechanical and electrical assembly, including wiring and basic soldering.
  • Capability to read and follow detailed work instructions, procedures, and basic blueprints or diagrams.
  • Comfort working on an assembly line or production line in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to stand at a workstation for 8 or more hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 26 pounds safely and repeatedly as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform inspection and quality checks on assembled units.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
